LESSON ON HEAT ENERGY

Heat is defined as the flow of energy between two systems by means of kinetic energy. In simple terms, it is the transfer of energy from one location to another by particles bouncing into one another.

What is the difference between heat energy and tempeature?
Heat refers to the transfer of energy between systems (or bodies), whereas temperature is determined by the energy contained within a singular system (or body). Heat is energy, while temperature is a measure of energy.

There are three basic ways to transfer heat:
  • convection
  • conduction
  • radiation.
